In the Sacrament of Marriage, God consecrates the love between two people and makes it grace-filled. The marriage bond reflects Christ's commitment to the Church and is a lifetime commitment. Couples anticipating marriage at St. Mary Church should contact the Parish office at 732-671-0071, to reserve the Church and to ensure that a year's time is allowed for Pre-Cana preparation.
Committed married couples of the parish Pre-Cana Team share their beliefs and experiences. This enables couples who are planning to receive the Sacrament of Matrimony to look deeply into their relationship with one another and with God. Participation in the Pre-Cana program is a requirement of the Diocese of Trenton, as marriage is a major commitment and requires much prayer and consideration.
Pre-Cana is preparation for couples seeking to enter into the Sacrament of Holy Matrimony. It helps to assess the strengths and weaknesses in the couples relationship, and to develop communication skills. If necessary, professional assistance is recommended.
The Sacrament of Holy Matrimony is celebrated on Saturdays at 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Dates are reserved for registered and participating members of St. Mary Parish. Arrangements must be made one year prior to the marriage either with a priest or a deacon of the parish. Friday times are also available - the time to be agreed upon with the presiding minister.
Register online at Fee is $100 per couple for Parish Precana Conferences; $125 for summer Diocesan conferences; $140 for God's Plan for a Joy-filled Marriage. Payment is due at the time of registration using Visa, MasterCard or Discover credit cards. For help with online registration, call Donna Goodwin at 609-406-7400 ext. 5592 .
